SOUTHBOUND EDGES BELLA IN EXTREMELY LIGHT CONDITIONS

In another strong turnout for fleet 5, seven J/105s raced in extremely light conditions in the Fran Byrne on Saturday.  The Columbia race committee was able to get off 2 (actually 1 1/2) races in about 5 kts of wind.  RC shortened the second as the breeze continued to lighten.

Southbound got a clean start and stayed in phase to edge Bella by 3 seconds in the second race and win the tiebreaker for the day.  Congratulations to first year skipper Bob Amos and his crew!  Bella also had a nice day (a 1st and a 2nd) to move back into second place in the Larsen Marine Weekend Warrior series standings.
