Bi-State winds provided a fast ride to Michigan for the 50th running of race to St. Joseph. Sealark got out early at the boat, followed closely by Flying Pig--with Vytis at the pin end and the rest of the fleet in between. With the T-10 Fleet out of the way (due to a general recall) it was a drag race across the lake as the southeasterly winds ranged from 8 to 18 kts, but let the fleet lay the finish on starboard. Sealark found the diabolically placed quick flash pin first in 6:24 with Vytis and Y-Not finishing 2nd and 3rd. On the return trip, sunny skies met the racers for a second drag-race home. The southwesterly 8 to 14 kts kept the average pace above 6 kts and brought the fleet back to Chicago in time for cocktails and an early supper. Sealark again crossed first, followed by Flying Pig and Y-not.
The win gave Sealark the overall series title (having scored three bullets). Vytis finished second overall, winning the tie-breaker against Striking (third overall) and against Phantom (4th overall).
