The Asylum eclipsed the field in
the 2016 Columbia YC Colors regatta with a near perfect string of bullets,
while Gonzo bested Flying Pig and Sealark in a windy, weekend that saw puffs up
to 22 kts and oscillating shifts of 30 degrees during Sunday's final two races.
Esprit d'Ecosse and Striking joined in the fun to kick off the 2016
racing season. Tight starts and close racing saw the lead change in all
the races. But in the end, Jon Weglarz' crew was consistent enough to get
the job done when it counted--at the finish line, placing first in nearly every
race. Congratulations to all the skippers and crew for a spectacular
weekend. See everyone in a couple of weeks at the NOODs, where a bigger
and even stronger field of ten boats is expected to compete.
