The Fleet 5 distance series is hotly contested with three boats tied atop the standings at 10 points each.
The high point series will be decided this fall over the Labor Day Bi-state races to and from St. Joseph.
Peregrine won the return race from Waukegan in a light air endurance contest—
and
in stark contrast to Saturday’s winds that saw The Asylum take line
honors using their reacher chute from start to finish—and nearly
establishing a course record (elapsed time).
Esprit d’Ecosse took second in Saturday’s drag race and Sealark third, followed by Peregrine, Kinship, Y-Not and It Wasn’t Me!
The
trip home found Peregrine atop the standings with Sealark and Esprit
ghosting across the finish line a short distance (but a lot of minutes
behind). Kinship also completed the course as part of the 21 boats that
were scored prior to TLE of 1800 hrs.
Unofficial results (Sun/Sat):
Peregrine 6 + 4
Sealark 5 + 5
Esprit 4 + 6
Asylum 0 + 7
Kinship 3 + 3
Y-Not 0 + 2
It Wasn’t Me 0 + 1
